Every day, come rain or shine, there is a group of older men who gather in my courtyard to play dominoes. They are very dramatic and emphatic with the playing of a domino, making it come crashing down on the table. I enjoy watching them from my window, with the view seen below.
The black shaggy dog always sits there too. I took this picture a month or two ago, creepin' from my balcony. I have yet to actually get up the courage to go talk to them while they're playing. I simply nod and give them a "здравствуйте" {hello} while trying to act like a Ukrainian (who is actually an American) as I pass by. Pretty sure they can see through the act. It's probably the pink rain boots that give it away.
I wonder when they decide to call it quits for the winter. With a foot of snow? Maybe two? I'll keep you posted :)
Until then, have a happy Friday...and happy Teacher's Day here in Ukraine! Ukrainians have no shortage for holidays...that's for sure. Toodles :)

Funny, that picture could easily be taken for somewhere in the US. I was talking the other day with Uncle David about the propensity for old men to hang out in groups early in the morning at Hardeez, McD's, etc.
это фото навеяло столько воспоминаний из детства :) мой дедушка тоже играл с друзьями во дворе в домино и шахматы :) здорово :)
